BASINGSTOKE PAEDOPHILE SENTENCED TO 15 YEARS FOR TODDLER RAPE
A dangerous and violent sex offender, Jahsiah Semper, has been sentenced to 15 years in prison for heinous crimes including the rape of a toddler.
The court heard that Semper, 24, formerly residing on Paddock Road in South Ham, appeared at Winchester Crown Court on July 1.
He was arrested in November 2024 following a police search of his home, where investigators discovered indecent photographs and videos on his mobile phone.
One of the videos depicted Semper assaulting a child aged between one and two years old, between January 2022 and November 2024.
Semper pleaded guilty to nine counts, including taking and possessing Category A indecent images of children, making indecent images of children in categories A and B, assaulting a girl under 13 by touching, possessing extreme pornographic material, and raping a girl under 13.
Following further evidence, three additional charges were brought against him on June 25, including recording a private act and making indecent images of children in categories A and B.
He admitted to these offenses as well.
During sentencing, Judge Paul Dugdale described Semper’s actions as ‘deplorable’ and emphasized the importance of him accepting his crimes before beginning treatment.
The judge highlighted that Semper had no previous convictions but remains a very dangerous individual, posing a significant risk to children.
Semper was sentenced to 15 years’ imprisonment, with an additional five-year term on license, and will be required to register as a sex offender for life.
He must serve at least 10 years before being eligible for parole.
Furthermore, he received a lifetime Sexual Harm Prevention Order and an indefinite restraining order.
The court also remarked that the victim will carry the impact of this trauma for the rest of her life, and Semper’s denial of his actions prevented him from receiving help.
The case underscores the severity of his crimes and the ongoing risk he poses to the community.
