MAN JAILED FOR THREE YEARS FOR ASSAULTING EX-PARTNER
A man has been jailed for three years and given a seven-year restraining order after he attacked his ex-partner in Basingstoke.Simon Christian, 42, of Tennyson Way, Basingstoke, assaulted the woman – who is in her 30s – on Saturday 24 February last year.
He bit her on the shoulder, pulled her hair, and left multiple bruises on her arms and legs after he threw her across a room in his Basingstoke flat.
Winchester Crown Court heard he breached a restraining order multiple times after he turned up at her home in Hook and continued to text, call and message her on social media between 30 October 2024 and 10 April 2025.
Christian pleaded guilty to two counts of harassment – breach of a restraining order and was found guilty of assaulting a person thereby occasioning them actual bodily harm.
He was found not guilty of assault by beating.
He was jailed for three years at Winchester Crown Court on 12 December and was also handed a seven-year restraining order.
