BASINGSTOKE PAEDOPHILE JAILED FOR 14 YEARS.
A man from Basingstoke has received a 14-year prison sentence after being convicted of multiple sexual offences involving a schoolboy, including acts of rape.
Martyn Hall, aged 38, denied charges of raping a boy aged 14 and 15, as well as four counts of sexual activity involving penetration of a male minor and two counts of sexual communication with him, all alleged to have occurred between 2022 and 2024.
The trial revealed that Hall, an HGV lorry driver, had systematically groomed the young boy.
Throughout the proceedings, it was highlighted that Hall subjected the boy to repeated abuse and sought to manipulate him into believing that no one would help if he disclosed the crimes.
The jury, however, saw through his tactics and found Hall guilty of all charges.
At Winchester Crown Court, the judge stated that Hall presented a significant 'high risk of re-offending.' He was sentenced to an extended imprisonment term of 13 years with an additional one-year extension.
Furthermore, a sexual harm prevention order was imposed, and Hall was ordered to register as a sex offender for life.
