MAN JAILED FOR 33 YEARS FOR RAPE AND SERIOUS CHILD SEX OFFENCES
A man has received a 33-year prison sentence after being convicted of 17 serious sexual offences involving two victims in Bordon and Southsea, spanning the years 2012 to 2023.
Michael Lovelace, aged 49 and residing in Tallis Gardens, Basingstoke, appeared before Winchester Crown Court on 16 December 2025.
A jury found him guilty of multiple charges, including five counts of encouraging or causing a girl under 13 to participate in sexual activities without penetration, sexual assault of a girl under 13 through touching, two counts of provoking a child under 13 to view sexual images, rape of a child under 13, and six counts of rape.
The allegations first emerged in March 2023, prompting an investigation by the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary’s Amberstone Investigations Team.
On 2 March, Lovelace appeared again at the same court, where he was sentenced to serve 33 years in prison with an additional eight-year extended licence.
In addition, he was subject to a Sexual Harm Prevention Order and ordered to be on the sex offenders register for life.
