SALFORD MAN SENTENCED FOR KIDNAPPING AND ASSAULT OF TEEN GIRL
Jacob Lee, aged 31, was found guilty and sentenced for a serious assault involving a 15-year-old girl in Salford.According to reports, Lee approached the girl from behind while she was walking along Princes Avenue on the evening of November 29, 2022.
He then forcibly took her away and attempted to strangle her, but she managed to defend herself and escape.
The police were informed about the incident, and forensic evidence collected from the scene facilitated Lee’s swift arrest, identification, and subsequent charges.
Lee admitted to the offenses of kidnapping and strangulation and received a combined prison sentence of 11 years at Manchester Crown Court.
The presiding judge labeled him as a "dangerous offender" and emphasized that he posed a significant threat to women.
The court concluded that Lee represented a considerable risk, and his conviction marked an important step in delivering justice and safeguarding other women and girls.
Lee was sentenced to seven years behind bars, with an extended license period of four years, for kidnapping and common assault.
Additionally, he was sentenced to three years for strangulation, with all sentences to run concurrently.
Police officials, including Detective Constable Stuart Bentley from GMP Salford Division, praised the bravery and resilience of the young victim, whose report was crucial in securing Lee’s conviction.
