MAN WHO THREATENED TO KILL FORMER PARTNER AND HER FAMILY JAILED
A 44-year-old man has been sentenced to 16 months in prison at Selkirk Sheriff Court for threatening to kill his ex-partner, her husband, and their children.Ian Brown, also known as Jackson or Jax Brown, admitted to a domestic abuse offense involving causing his former partner to feel fear and distress.
The incident took place at various locations in Peebles between March 15 and March 16 of this year.
Brown persistently sent threatening and abusive messages to his ex-partner, posted about her on social media, and made threats to kill her, her spouse, their children, and her mother.
He also shared a video of himself displaying a weapon and even attempted to enlist someone online to murder her.
His jail term was made effective from March 17, the date he was initially remanded.
Moreover, five-year non-harassment orders were issued, restricting him from contacting his ex-partner, her husband, her mother, or entering certain addresses in Peebles.
