FIFE RAPIST FACES LIFETIME SENTENCE AFTER MULTIPLE FEMALE ATTACKS
Despicable Gerry McMurray (34) battered multiple female victims at various locations in Fife, including Lochgelly, Kelty, Dunfermline, and Rosyth, from January 1997 to July 2013.The High Court in Edinburgh heard how McMurray raped and sexually assaulted some victims during the physical attacks.
He abducted some women and held them against their will, launching ferocious assaults that included punching, kicking, strangling, and using household weapons.
One victim was sprayed in the eyes with deodorant.
During court proceedings, McMurray threatened a victim with death, snarling, 'You’re f*****g dead.
Watch your back.' He was convicted last month at the High Court of 14 charges of rape, sexual assault, and assault, and his sentence has been deferred to January for reports on his character.
The judge considered imposing a lifelong restriction order, which would only lift if he was deemed no longer a risk to the public.
The court highlighted that McMurray showed no remorse nor responsibility for his crimes and had not expressed any acknowledgment of his offences.
