MAN RECEIVES FIVE YEAR NHO FOLLOWING CONVICTION OF SERIOUS DOMESTIC ABUSE OFFENCES
Ben Luther has been banned from contacting his former partner for five years after being convicted of a series of serious domestic abuse offences. The Non-Harassment Order was imposed by a sheriff court following convictions which included assault and assault to injury, all of which carried domestic abuse aggravations.
The court heard that the offences amounted to a pattern of misconduct towards the woman.
In response, the sheriff ordered that the man must not approach, contact, or attempt to contact her for the duration of the order.
An exception was made to allow contact only where it is specifically authorised by the court in relation to matters concerning their child.
The order was granted under the Criminal Procedure (Scotland) Act 1995 and is designed to provide protection for victims of harassment and abuse.
Any breach of the order would be treated as a criminal offence and could result in further prosecution
