GARY DAVISON FROM LINCOLN JAILED FOR CHILD ABUSE IMAGES AND BEACH FILMING IN MAJORCA
In a disturbing case that has shocked the community of Lincoln, Gary Davison, a 56-year-old man, has been sentenced to a total of four years in prison after being found guilty of possessing a vast collection of child abuse images and secretly filming naked boys on a beach in Majorca, Spain. The court proceedings revealed the extent of Davison's disturbing activities, which spanned over a decade and involved both digital and physical evidence.
According to the National Crime Agency (NCA), authorities raided Davison's residence on Hunt Lea Avenue in Lincoln in March 2016.
During the investigation, they uncovered a staggering collection of approximately 140,000 images related to child abuse, which Davison himself referred to as “the collection.” The NCA confirmed that these images included photographs and videos depicting the abuse of young children, some as young as four years old, and also contained material involving young girls.
The sheer volume of material was so overwhelming that law enforcement officials admitted to being unable to process it all immediately.
Prosecutor Alex Wolfson detailed to the court that Davison had openly admitted to having a long-standing interest in this type of material.
Over a period of fifteen years, he had been actively downloading and accumulating these images.
Davison described himself as having a sexual interest in Caucasian males aged between seven and twelve years.
During interviews, he also confessed to downloading indecent images of children for the same period, revealing a disturbing pattern of behavior.
Further investigation uncovered that Davison had used a video recorder to film naked boys aged between five and nine on a beach in Majorca, Spain.
These recordings were made during various holidays over several years.
The NCA clarified that Davison did not know any of the children he filmed in Spain, indicating that his actions were driven by a compulsive interest rather than personal connections.
During the court hearing, Wolfson emphasized the severity of the case, noting that the police found numerous images of children being abused, which included very young victims.
The evidence also showed that Davison had been involved in this illicit activity for a significant period, with his downloads and recordings spanning over a decade.
In his defense, Davison admitted to downloading indecent images of children for fifteen years and to filming the boys on the beach in Majorca.
The court sentenced him to four years in prison for the possession of 1,400 images and videos, along with additional sentences of 18 months and six months for the other counts related to making indecent images of children.
All sentences are to run concurrently, meaning he will serve the longest term of four years.
Additionally, Davison was handed a six-month sentence for the act of filming the boys on the beach.
The NCA confirmed that he was also subject to a sexual harm prevention order and was placed on the sex offenders’ register for life, ensuring ongoing monitoring and restrictions.
It is noteworthy that Davison had previous convictions dating back to 1988, including indecent assault on a male under 16, indecent assault on a male under 14, and buggery.
He was also convicted in 1991 of indecent assault on a male under 16 and of taking indecent photographs or pseudo-photographs of children.
These prior convictions predated the establishment of the sex offenders’ register, meaning he was not under active management by law enforcement at that time.
His latest convictions highlight a troubling pattern of offending behavior that has persisted over many years, prompting calls for stricter oversight and intervention.
