FRASER LOVE SENTENCED FOR ABUSE IN COATBRIDGE AND FIFE
A man identified as Fraser Love, a convicted sex offender, has been sentenced to prison after a court found him guilty of abusing three young girls. The heinous acts primarily took place at a property located in Coatbridge, North Lanarkshire, with additional incidents reported in St Andrew's, Fife. Prosecutors detailed that the abuse spanned nearly a decade, beginning in 2006 and continuing until 2015, highlighting the prolonged nature of his criminal conduct. One of Love’s victims was only around four years old when the abuse first commenced, underscoring the devastating impact on the young girl’s life. Love faced four separate charges, which included lewd and libidinous behavior as well as sexual assault. Notably, he was acquitted of the more serious charge of raping one of the girls, but the remaining charges led to his conviction.
The case was heard at the High Court in Glasgow, where Justice Lord Mulholland delivered the verdict last week. Prosecutor Neil McCulloch emphasized that Love was a first-time offender, which was considered during the proceedings. Despite this, the judge issued a stern warning, indicating that Love could face a lengthy prison sentence when sentencing occurs the following month. Lord Mulholland also ordered that Love be remanded in custody in the meantime, reflecting the gravity of his crimes and the court’s concern for public safety.
Overall, the case highlights the serious nature of sexual offenses against minors and the judicial system’s commitment to holding offenders accountable, especially in cases involving prolonged abuse and vulnerable victims.
