GERMAN WORKER JAILED FOR ARRANGING TO MEET 'BOY'
Florian Reuss, a man with no fixed residence, appeared in Oxford Crown Court on Friday, November 14.Reuss, aged 32, faced charges including attempting to engage in sexual activity with a minor, trying to initiate sexual communication with a child, and possessing indecent images of children on three counts.
The court was informed that these offences occurred in August.
He admitted guilt to all the charges brought against him.
According to the court, Reuss initiated contact with an undercover police officer on the LGBT app Romeo, where the officer was pretending to be a 14-year-old boy.
He sent photos showing his bare chest and expressed a desire for 'some fun.' On August 21, the two arranged to meet at Oxford's train station.
Law enforcement officers waited there and subsequently arrested Reuss, the court was told.
During police interviews, he did not comment.
A phone was seized, revealing multiple indecent images of children, including eight classified as Category A, four as Category B, and five as Category C.
Further, messages found on his phone indicated a sexual interest in children.
In his defence, Reuss was described as an educated individual who is well-liked.
He lives approximately an hour from Berlin and is employed at a university.
The judge sentenced him to 12 months in prison, citing concerns about his potential risk to young male children.
Additionally, Reuss was served with a five-year sexual harm prevention order.
