KINCARDINE CARER ADMITTED STEALING PATIENT'S MEDICATION
Fiona Sweet, a 50-year-old care assistant at Forth Bay Nursing Home residing on Dewar Avenue in Kincardine, confessed to stealing medication belonging to a vulnerable 72-year-old resident on February 14.She was found with medication in her bag, which resulted in her being suspended and subsequently dismissed from her position.
The resident’s daughter recounted that Sweet had given her mother water instead of the prescribed medication, leading to her falling ill and feeling demeaned.
Sweet appeared in Dunfermline Sheriff Court, where her sentencing was postponed until August 26 to allow for reports.
The care home operator, Care UK, stated that she was immediately suspended and later dismissed following an internal investigation.
