HUDDERSFIELD MAN JAILED FOR VIOLENT DOMESTIC ABUSE AND THREATS
A vile offender named Evan Ghani has been sentenced after a series of brutal domestic attacks on his ex-partner.Ghani, 35 years old, was accused of repeating assaults and threats, including threatening to throw his victim off her flat balcony.
During the trial, Ghani was described as having shown contempt for the proceedings, calling the magistrates “racist devils” and uttering a vile slur against his victim, whom he labeled a “f*****g lying little dog.” The court heard how Ghani’s aggressive behavior was both persistent and violent, involving multiple incidents in Huddersfield town centre and at his victim's flat in Lindley.
The prosecutor, Tom Jackson, detailed one incident when Ghani threw a drink in the victim's eye at The Hart bar, then followed her outside, shouting abuse and physically assaulting her repeatedly, including hitting her in McDonald's.
Further assaults occurred at her Lindley flat, where Ghani lashed out after demanding to check her phone, and he physically assaulted her by slapping, throwing a can of paint, pulling her hair, and inflicting injuries.
The neighbor intervened during this violent episode.
Throughout the hearing, Ghani refused to face the court and made racist and derogatory remarks, including calling his victim “a little dog” and saying “You are all racists and devils” to the court.
He pleaded guilty to four assault charges and was sentenced to 26 weeks in prison.
The magistrates described the behavior as particularly nasty, with a judge highlighting that Ghani’s threats and violence endangered his victim’s safety.
An indefinite restraining order was issued, banning Ghani from contacting the victim or visiting her home and workplace.
During sentencing, Ghani was warned to face court calmly; he responded with, “I'm going to jail now, I don't need to face no one,” and continued to call the court “racists and devils.” When led away, he said to his victim, “See you, love you - you f*****g lying little dog.” The case underscores his persistent pattern of violence and contempt for the legal process, and the court emphasized the seriousness of his offenses, which included threats of harm and sustained physical abuse.
