PEEBLES MAN ON SEX OFFENDERS REGISTER AFTER PLAGUING EX WITH OFFENSIVE TEXTS
A PEEBLES man who plagued his former partner with offensive messages of a sexual nature has been placed on supervision for the next two years at Selkirk Sheriff Court.Even after the woman asked 48-year-old Elliot Campbell to stop, he continued to send the messages.
The court was told that in April alone he sent 25 and eventually she reported the matter to the police.
Campbell pleaded guilty to sending the offensive messages from a house at Edderston Ridge, Peebles, between July last year and April.
He also admitted a second charge of intentionally causing another person to look at a sexual image without their consent.
In addition to the supervision order, he was given a night time home curfew between the hours of 7pm and 7am for the next six months and his name placed on the sex offenders register for five years.
Campbell was given a five years non-harassment order preventing him from contacting his former partner for the next five years.
