REVENGE OF THE CHILD ABUSE VICTIM: MAN CONVICTED OF ATTEMPTED MURDER AFTER CLIFF ATTACK
A man named Edward Wilcox, who had been convicted of child abuse, was targeted for revenge more than 20 years later by Christopher Thomas, a victim of his past abuse.Thomas, now 33 years old, had been molested by Wilcox when he was a teenager after being sent to a children's home at the age of eight.
The incident occurred when Thomas lay in wait for Wilcox outside his home in Ryde on the Isle of Wight.
Thomas then lured Wilcox to Culver Cliff and attacked him.
During the court proceedings, it was revealed that Wilcox had admitted to abusing six other children.
Thomas, enraged by Wilcox's continued lack of remorse, pushed him over a 200-foot cliff, dragging him to the edge and demanding he say a prayer before kicking him off.
Wilcox's body was never recovered.
Thomas was convicted of attempted murder and sentenced accordingly.
The jury took over five hours to find him guilty on January 6 of the previous year, and he was scheduled for sentencing on July 30 following psychiatric evaluations.
