BARNABY MONEY, 46, JAILED FOR SEXUALLY ASSAULTING TEENAGE GIRL AT RAILWAY STATION
A 'dangerous' sexual predator preyed on a teenage girl as she waited for a train.Barnaby Money sexually assaulted the 17-year-old and threatened to rape her.
The girl was sitting alone on a bench when the 46-year-old approached her at around 6.20pm on February 25 last year.
Money sat on the bench and began to ask her questions about the trains.
Although she attempted to ignore him, Money then moved closer to her and asked if she wanted to go on a walk and perform a sexual act on him.
Moments later, he attempted to kiss her hand before sexually assaulting her.
He then remained on the bench next to the victim as he threatened to rape her.
The attack at Cosham Railway Station was witnessed by a member of the public, who called the police.
Hampshire Police officers arrived first, and the witness pointed out Money who was still sat next to the girl.
He was immediately arrested and taken into custody for questioning.
Money, of East Hill Road, Ryde, pleaded guilty to sexual assault and was jailed for 12 months at Portsmouth Crown Court on January 15.
He was also ordered to sign the sex offenders register for 10 years and has been banned from working with children.
Detective Constable Phil James, from British Transport Police, said: "Money is a dangerous sexual predator who preyed on a lone teenage girl and attacked her as she waited for a train.
His behaviour was totally unacceptable and has caused a young woman severe trauma.
I commend her bravery in supporting our investigation, as well as the bystander who quickly called the police so Money could be arrested at the scene.
Thanks to them, Money is now behind bars and no longer a danger to women.
