ISLAND MAN CHARGED WITH MULTIPLE SEXUAL OFFENCES
A man has been charged with multiple sexual offences following an investigation into alleged offending against two women on the Island.Alexander Scott France, aged 37, of Pondwell Close, Ryde, has been charged with eleven offences relating to incidents alleged to have taken place between 2015 and 2025.
The charges include one count of rape on Thursday, April 9, 2015, in Cowes, and two counts of rape on Monday, September 29, 2025, in Ryde.
France is also charged with two counts of sexual assault by penetration, alleged to have occurred between Thursday, January 1, 2015, and Sunday, December 31, 2023, in Cowes.
In addition, he faces two counts of sexual assault by touching, also alleged to have taken place in Cowes between January 1, 2015, and December 31, 2023, and one further count of sexual assault by touching on Monday, September 29, 2025, in Ryde.
Further charges include one count of voyeurism on Thursday, December 4, 2025, in Cowes, and two counts of assault by beating on Monday, September 29, 2025, in Ryde.
France appeared at the IW Crown Court on Saturday, December 6, where he was remanded into custody.
His next court hearing is scheduled to take place at the same court on Monday, January 5.
