DAVID JEFFREY FROM ABERDEEN ESCAPES JAIL AFTER CHILD PORNOGRAPHY DISCOVERY

A 72-year-old man named David Jeffrey from Aberdeen narrowly avoided a prison sentence after being found in possession of a significant collection of indecent images depicting children engaged in sadomasochistic activities. Jeffrey appeared before Aberdeen Sheriff Court to face charges related to the possession of these illicit materials, which included dozens of folders containing over 300 images of child abuse. These images were stored on a USB stick found at his residence, and authorities revealed that some of the photographs depicted very young children, including boys and girls as young as three years old, involved in explicit poses and sadomasochistic acts.

Investigations into Jeffrey’s electronic devices uncovered a disturbing array of material. The images were meticulously organized into 32 separate folders, with titles such as ‘BDSM,’ ‘boy models,’ and ‘nude boys,’ indicating the nature of the content. The police inquiry was initiated after receiving intelligence from the National Online Child Abuse Prevention service, which prompted a search warrant to be executed on Jeffrey’s home on March 17, 2020.

During the search, authorities discovered two videos linked to child abuse material. One of these videos, originating from an email attachment sent in 2014, involved a boy aged nine and 13, with Jeffrey’s interest in young boys clearly evident. The second video depicted a boy estimated to be between 12 and 15 years old, engaged in erotic posing. Further examination of Jeffrey’s devices revealed a USB stick containing 306 images of children aged between three and 13 years old, all engaged in abusive acts. These images included sadomasochistic scenes and non-penetrative sexual acts, organized into folders with titles such as ‘gala boys’ and ‘spa boys.’

Jeffrey’s mobile phone also contained indecent images, including three classified as the most serious category, featuring boys aged between four and ten years old. Additionally, there were six other images of children aged 10 to 12. Jeffrey admitted to possessing these indecent images from September 2014 through March 2020.

The sheriff emphasized the seriousness of such offenses, stating, “It’s commonly recognized by courts that one of the factors that make behavior like this so serious is the fact that the process of seeking out or possessing these images contributes to the global demand for child abuse material.”

Instead of a custodial sentence, Jeffrey was given a community payback order for three years. He was also ordered to complete 270 hours of unpaid work, participate in a sex offenders’ program, and be registered on the sex offenders register for three years, reflecting the court’s recognition of the gravity of his actions and the importance of monitoring such offenders.
