FIDELIS AMU CONVICTED
A food delivery driver who preyed on girls in an Aberdeen street has been placed on the sex offenders register after being pinned down by furious members of the public.Fidelis Amu, 29, targeted two groups of females in the Torry area before approaching a 12-year-old girl and sexually assaulting a 15-year-old, Aberdeen Sheriff Court heard.
The court was told that Amu, who was working as a food courier at the time, touched the teenager on the buttocks before grabbing and attempting to hug an adult woman.
After some of the girls raised the alarm, members of the public stepped in and detained Amu until police arrived.
Footage of the confrontation later spread widely across social media.
Amu has now been placed on the sex offenders register following the incident.
