ABERDEEN PAEDOPHILE GRAEME REDWOOD REPEATEDLY BREACHES SEX OFFENDER RULES AND IS JAILED AGAIN

In a disturbing development, Graeme Redwood, a convicted paedophile from Aberdeen, has been sentenced to prison once more after violating the strict conditions imposed on him as a registered sex offender. Redwood, who previously served time for possessing indecent images of children, was found to have breached his legal obligations by accessing the internet and searching for explicit material related to minors.

Redwood, aged 60, had been placed on the Sex Offenders Register indefinitely in 2016 following a conviction for possessing thousands of indecent images. Despite this, he continued to engage in online activities that were strictly prohibited under his conditions. The court heard that Redwood used a device capable of internet access and failed to notify authorities of his online username, ‘Sergeant Gimp,’ which was discovered during an investigation.

The case revealed that Redwood had been actively searching for extreme pornographic content online, including material associated with child abuse. His searches included terms such as “schoolgirl,” “teen,” and other phrases linked to sexual violence against minors. These actions raised serious concerns about his compliance with the restrictions placed upon him and his ongoing risk to the community.

Details of the case indicated that Redwood’s breaches were not isolated incidents. He had previously been jailed in 2006 after admitting to possessing a vast collection of indecent images. Despite the prior conviction and the legal restrictions, Redwood continued to seek out and view illegal material, demonstrating a blatant disregard for the law and the safety of potential victims.

The court was also informed that Redwood had been attending weekly meetings with a support worker. However, on October 17 of the previous year, his support worker reviewed his emails and discovered an email dated October 13, which had been opened. This was particularly alarming because Redwood was supposed to have had no internet access since their last appointment on October 10. The breach of this condition prompted immediate concern and contributed to the decision to jail him once again.

Prosecutor David Ballock emphasized the seriousness of Redwood’s violations, highlighting the ongoing risk he posed to society.
