Andrew Dow, aged 32, has a prior criminal record that includes touching a woman while she was asleep and uploading footage of the assault to a pornographic website.
Throughout the trial, Dow kept his face obscured from media cameras. The case, held at the High Court in Aberdeen, concluded with a jury verdict after a week of proceedings.
Initially, Dow faced charges of raping three different women; however, he was acquitted of one and the jury did not find sufficient evidence for another.
The jury, composed of nine men and six women, deliberated for nearly four hours before reaching a majority guilty verdict on the charge of repeatedly raping the third woman.
Judge William Summers ordered Dow to be held in custody until his sentencing hearing scheduled for next month and added him to the sex offenders register.
Following the trial’s conclusion, Judge Summers described the convictions as involving “three very serious charges” and indicated that imprisonment was inevitable.
Dow's defense lawyer, Mark Stewart, acknowledged the likelihood of a custodial sentence and recommended that social background reports be prepared.
The defendant, who works as an accountant for an oil and gas company, was visibly emotional in the dock as the verdict was announced.
