ATTACK VICTIM 'FELT LIKE AN ANIMAL' AS SHE WAS DRAGGED AND BEATEN BY PARTNER
A woman considered jumping out of her window to safety after her partner knocked her unconscious in a brutal attack, a court heard. The victim said she felt like an animal after being dragged by her hair, repeatedly kicked and punched, and had objects hurled at her.
Bouncer David Jackson, of Fenton Square in Huddersfield, pleaded guilty to assault occasioning actual bodily harm.
But as his version of the attack is so different from his now ex-partner's, he will face an additional hearing at Kirklees Magistrates’ Court before sentencing.
The incident happened on April 10, and the court was told that Jackson’s behaviour changed, and he hit the victim.
Court evidence detailed various assaults, including throwing furniture and punches that caused bleeding lips.
Mrs.
Qureshi, the prosecutor, revealed that Jackson locked the victim in the house, took her keys, and assaulted her during a violent row.
Jackson, a doorman for 30 years, admitted to pushing her during the argument.
The victim felt like an animal after the incident, with thoughts of jumping out of the window to escape.
Jackson's solicitor stated that he was pleading guilty to avoid a trial, noting that the actions were beyond reasonable but were exaggerated.
Jackson will be sentenced after a Newton hearing on July 16 and is currently banned from contacting the victim or going to her home.
The court proceedings also highlighted discrepancies in the accounts of both parties.
