DAVID GOLDSWORTHY'S REIGN OF TERROR IN GLENROTHES AND FIFE ENDS WITH COURT REMAND

A man with a disturbing history of domestic violence and assault has been brought before the courts in connection with multiple incidents across Fife, including the town of Glenrothes. David Goldsworthy, aged 19 and currently detained at HMYOI Polmont, has admitted to a series of violent and threatening acts spanning over two years.

One of the earliest admissions involves an assault on his former partner on August 1, 2011. This incident took place at the Cadham Centre in Glenrothes, where Goldsworthy punched the woman in the head, causing her injury. The assault was serious enough to warrant a formal admission of guilt, highlighting a pattern of violent behavior towards intimate partners.

Further allegations reveal that between October 1 and October 3, 2012, Goldsworthy assaulted another ex-girlfriend at Macbeth Road in Dunfermline. During this incident, he brandished a knife at her, creating a dangerous and threatening environment. This act of intimidation added to his record of violent conduct and posed a significant risk to the victim’s safety.

In addition to physical assaults, Goldsworthy engaged in a campaign of harassment by repeatedly calling another woman between November 1, 2012, and December 31, 2012. These calls occurred at various locations across Fife, causing her fear and alarm. The persistent nature of these communications demonstrated a pattern of psychological abuse and intimidation.

Another serious incident took place on November 19, 2013, at South Street in Kingskettle. Goldsworthy was accused of seizing a different ex-partner by the throat, restricting her breathing, and causing injuries that endangered her life. This act of violence was particularly alarming due to its severity and the clear threat it posed to her well-being.

Goldsworthy’s violent tendencies extended beyond his relationships, as he also admitted to physically assaulting a man on Dunearn Drive in Kirkcaldy. Between May 1, 2011, and October 31, 2012, he repeatedly punched the man in the head and body, further illustrating a pattern of aggressive behavior.

During a court hearing at Kirkcaldy Sheriff Court yesterday, Sheriff Grant McCulloch decided to defer sentencing until June 19. The delay allows for the preparation of a criminal justice report, which will likely influence the final sentencing decision. Meanwhile, Goldsworthy was remanded in custody, pending further legal proceedings, as authorities continue to address his history of violence and threats in the Fife region.
