DAVID FREEMAN FROM INVERGORDON AND STOCKTON FACES PRISON OVER CHILD PORNOGRAPHY SCANDAL
In a serious case that has shocked the local communities of Invergordon and Stockton, David Geoffrey Freeman, aged 56, is now facing potential imprisonment after admitting to possessing a significant collection of indecent images of children. The charges against Freeman involve the creation and possession of over 1,500 illicit photographs, a revelation that has sent ripples through the criminal justice system.According to court records, Freeman pleaded guilty to three separate charges related to the making of indecent photographs of children. The total number of images involved in the case amounts to 1,517, all of which were discovered in Stockton in the year 2015. The investigation into Freeman’s activities uncovered this extensive collection, raising concerns about the safety and well-being of minors depicted in these images.
During the proceedings at Teesside Crown Court on a recent Tuesday, it was noted that Freeman had no prior criminal convictions, which may influence the sentencing process. The presiding judge, Tony Briggs, decided to adjourn the case until October 27 to allow for the preparation of a comprehensive pre-sentence report. This report will help determine the appropriate punishment for Freeman’s actions.
In the meantime, Freeman was granted bail, a decision that has been met with mixed reactions given the gravity of the charges. The judge issued a stern warning to Freeman, stating, “You should understand, as I’m sure you’ve already been told, that the grant of bail is not an indication of what happens to you eventually. All sentencing options remain open.”
As part of the consequences of his conviction, Freeman will be required to register as a sex offender and adhere to strict reporting obligations. These measures are designed to monitor his activities and prevent any further harm, reflecting the serious nature of the offense and the ongoing concern for child safety in the community.
