WOMAN FROM MACCLESFIELD JAILED FOR 18 MONTHS HARASSMENT CAMPAIGN AND REVENGE PORN
A woman named Danika France, from Macclesfield, Cheshire, was found guilty of harassing her ex's new partner over an 18-month period. The court heard she targeted Molly Burrows at her home, at work, and in public after she started dating her former partner Matthew Shackley.
France launched a relentless campaign, threatening to "batter her pretty little face" and intimidating her by following her on a driving lesson and hanging around her workplace.
She also posted threatening messages online and tormented her at her place of work at Boots in Macclesfield, resulting in her being banned from the store.
France's actions caused Ms Burrows to feel "scared" and "constantly on edge," and also strained her relationship with Mr Shackley.
The court revealed that France had a prior conviction from 2015 for posting revenge porn—a video of a friend having sex—when she was spared prison and was given community orders.
In April 2016, she followed Ms Burrows during a driving test, flashing her lights to intimidate her, and later keyed her car in her driveway but denied responsibility.
France denied harassment but was convicted after a trial.
She was sentenced to eight weeks in prison, suspended for 12 months, 40 hours of unpaid work, and 15 days of rehabilitation.
Her previous convictions show a pattern of getting back at people, with her prior offenses including posting a revenge porn video and sending explicit images of her ex to friends and family, which greatly affected the victims, often leaving them feeling vulnerable and suicidal.
