MACCLESFIELD MAN SENTENCED AFTER CHILD RAPE AND SEXUAL OFFENCES
An "extremely dangerous" predator is facing a lengthy prison sentence after being convicted of raping a child.Daniel Carter was also found guilty of committing numerous other sexual offences against the same victim.
Chester Crown Court heard that Carter abused the girl, who was under 13, over a period of three years.
Despite denying all allegations, he was convicted after a four-day trial.
Carter faced 10 counts of child sexual offences, including rape of a child under 13, exposure, sexual assault, engaging in sexual activity in the presence of a child, and inciting a child to engage in sexual activities.
The court was told that police started investigating after a disclosure from the victim in November 2022.
Carter, aged 28 and from the Macclesfield area with no fixed address, has been remanded in custody and is set to be sentenced on September 12.
During the trial, he showed no remorse and continued to deny the allegations, traumatizing the victim further by putting her through a trial.
Detective Constable Steph Darbyshire praised the victim’s bravery and said that Carter had been an extremely dangerous man who will finally be held accountable.
After the verdict, Carter was ordered to sign the sex offenders’ register for life, ensuring he will never hurt another child again.
Authorities hope that this case offers closure to the victim and emphasizes their commitment to safeguarding children from sexual predators.
UPDATE 13/09/2025 A man has been jailed after he was found guilty of raping a child in Wilmslow.
Daniel Carter appeared at Chester Crown Court today, Friday 12 September, where he was sentenced to 13 years in prison, plus one year on licence.
The 28-year-old of no fixed abode in the Macclesfield area, was previously found guilty by unanimous verdict of 10 counts of child sexual offences, including rape of a child under 13, exposure, and sexual assault, following a 4-day trial at Chester Crown Court that concluded on Thursday 10 July.
On top of his custodial sentence, Carter was handed a 20-year Sexual Harm Prevention Order, a 20-year restraining order against three witnesses and will be added to the sex offenders register and will remain on it indefinitely.
