MAN JAILED FOR SEXUAL COMMUNICATION WITH A CHILD
A man aged 37 from Ipswich has been sentenced to prison after admitting to online communications with a fictitious social media profile, which he believed belonged to a girl aged 14.Damian Sadowski, residing on Yeoman Close in Ipswich, appeared in Ipswich Crown Court on Friday, 1 May.
He received a 40-month prison term after confessing to several charges, including attempting to encourage a girl between the ages of 13 and 15 to engage in sexual acts, attempting to meet a minor under 16 after grooming, and trying to conduct sexual conversations with a child.
On 2 March 2025, Sadowski contacted a Facebook account belonging to an unexistent girl, which was actually a decoy.
Following initial messaging, the fake girl claimed she was 14, but Sadowski responded that he was much older.
He then provided his phone number, moving the chat to WhatsApp, where the conversation quickly turned sexual.
He also sent an explicit image during the exchange.
Furthermore, Sadowski offered to pay for her train ticket for a meeting planned for the next day, instructing her to keep it secret.
The police were alerted after the interaction was reported, leading to his arrest on 10 April, and subsequent charging on 29 December 2025.
His sentence included the destruction of his mobile device and the imposition of an indefinite Sexual Harm Prevention Order.
