IPSWICH SEX OFFENDER ADRIAN LONG GETS SUSPENDED PRISON SENTENCE AFTER ASSAULT
A man has received a court sentence for sexually assaulting a woman who has Alzheimer's disease.Adrian Long, aged 63 and from Bruff Road in Ipswich, admitted to engaging in sexual activity with a woman suffering from a mental disorder.
He appeared before Ipswich Crown Court on Friday, April 24, and was given an eight-month prison sentence, suspended for 20 months.
On March 27, 2025, Suffolk Constabulary responded to reports after a family member saw Long entering the victim’s home through personal video footage.
Further investigation showed he had met the woman earlier that day when she flagged him down outside a shop and requested a lift to her residence.
Long is now on the sex offenders register for a decade.
"Long exploited a vulnerable woman for his own sexual satisfaction," stated Detective Constable Charlotte Bourne from the Safeguarding and Investigations Unit at Suffolk Constabulary.
"His actions have deeply affected the victim, who has Alzheimer's and has experienced rapid health decline since the assault.
It has also greatly impacted her family."
