DALTON MAN JAILED FOR THREATS AND VIOLENCE AFTER DRINKING LIGHTER FLUID
A man has been jailed after threatening his double amputee neighbour and telling another he’d stab him.He was Craig Leah, who pleaded guilty to threatening behaviour and assaulting a police constable acting in the execution of duty.
Leah threatened to set his dog on officers and refused to go with police after consuming lighter fluid.
During the incident, Leah shouted at his neighbours, including Ronald Trigg, a double amputee who lives opposite him, and Brendan McDonagh, another neighbor.
Leah displayed violent and disgraceful behavior, including shouting at a dog and calling Mr Trigg a 'no legged b*****d.' He also threatened to kill Mr McDonagh and told him, “Dark Mornings are coming.” Leah was trying to consume gas lighter fluid and lunged at officers when they attempted to arrest him, forcing them to draw a Taser.
Leah claimed he had no recollection of the incident and had been drinking lager and swallowing lighter fluid prior.
He was sentenced to 12 weeks in jail, ordered to pay £150 costs and an £80 victim surcharge.
The judge told Leah his behavior was disgraceful and called for an enforced break from society.
