CORY WILKES FROM EBBW VALE ADMITS TO SEXUAL ASSAULT AND CHILD PORNOGRAPHY CASE

In April 2021, a serious case involving a teenage individual from Ebbw Vale captured the attention of the local community and legal authorities. Cory Wilkes, aged 19 and residing at Llys Onnen in Ebbw Vale, faced charges related to a disturbing sexual assault on a young girl, as well as the production and distribution of child abuse images.

Wilkes appeared before Cardiff Crown Court where he admitted to the allegations against him. The charges included a sexual assault on a minor, which is a grave offense, and the creation of indecent images categorized under A, B, and C levels of severity, depicting children in explicit and illegal contexts. His guilty plea marked a significant development in the case, which had been closely followed by local residents and advocacy groups concerned with child safety.

Following his admission, Judge Michael Fitton QC decided to adjourn the proceedings to allow for a comprehensive assessment of Wilkes' case by the Probation Service. The judge set a provisional date for sentencing on April 30, and until that time, Wilkes was remanded in custody, meaning he would remain detained in prison pending the final judgment.
