HUDDERSFIELD MAN CONVICTED OF DOMESTIC ASSAULT GETS COMMUNITY ORDER
Connor Buckley, aged 25, was convicted of assaulting his girlfriend during an altercation at their flat in Granby Flats, Paddock.
The incident occurred on May 13, when Buckley struck the mother of his two children in the face, causing her to drop to the floor.
The victim refused hospital treatment after the attack.
Prosecuting lawyer Sharon Thompson stated that two witnesses inside Buckley's flat heard a commotion and attempted to intervene, during which Buckley physically assaulted the complainant.
Despite denying the assault initially, Buckley was found guilty following a trial.
He has a prior conviction from 2007 for a school fight involving assault.
The court sentenced him to a community order with 20 rehabilitation activity days intended to address his behavior, and he was required to pay £200 in prosecution costs and a £90 victim surcharge.
