MAN WHIPPED EX-GIRLFRIEND WITH MOBILE PHONE AND BIT HER CHEEK, COURT HEARS
A 31-year-old man, Christopher Jones, faces trial accused of assaulting his ex-girlfriend by whipping her with his mobile phone and biting her cheek.Jones sent several unpleasant messages to his former partner on July 17, including a claim that photos posted of her online had “hits in Australia and Canada with four million responses.” He was charged with breaching his bail conditions by sending her texts ahead of his trial scheduled for October 5 and pleaded guilty to the breach.
Magistrates released him on the same conditions as previously.
The prosecutor, Jill Seddon, described Jones’ messages as unpleasant and somewhat menacing, stating they were not particularly pleasant for the victim to hear when giving evidence.
Jones denies the assault accusations.
