CHRISTOPHER BLACKER SENTENCED IN MILFORD HAVEN FOR CHILD PORNOGRAPHY OFFENSES
In a significant legal development at Swansea Crown Court, Christopher Charles Blacker, a resident of Stratford House in Milford Haven, was handed an indefinite prison sentence after being convicted of possessing and creating child pornography.The court's decision underscores the severity of his crimes and the ongoing concern for public safety in the Milford Haven area.
Blacker, aged 54, faced multiple charges related to his possession of indecent images of children, which he admitted to during the proceedings.
The authorities revealed that he had been found with a total of 110 indecent images stored across various devices, including computer discs and his mobile telephone.
This discovery was particularly alarming given that Blacker had been released early from prison and was still under license at the time of his latest offenses.
The court heard that Blacker pleaded guilty to 16 separate counts of making indecent images, along with a collective charge of possessing a substantial number of such images.
The judge, Gerald Price, did not mince words in describing Blacker’s dangerousness, stating, "You are a dangerous offender, a prolific and determined paedophile who preys on young children." The judge emphasized Blacker’s criminal history, noting that he had been previously jailed twice for similar offenses and was on early release when he committed these latest crimes.
Judge Price highlighted the gravity of the situation, pointing out that Blacker had already been banned from working with children, yet he continued to pose a significant threat.
As a result, the court sentenced him to an indefinite term of imprisonment, with the stipulation that he would not be eligible for parole until he had served a minimum of two and a half years.
The judge made it clear that Blacker’s release would depend on satisfying the authorities that he was no longer a danger to children, effectively allowing for his continued detention if necessary.
Furthermore, Blacker was subjected to a sexual offences prevention order, which imposes strict conditions on his conduct.
Any breach of these conditions could result in a five-year jail sentence.
The court’s decision reflects a firm stance on protecting vulnerable children from individuals like Blacker, whose actions have caused significant concern within the Milford Haven community and beyond.
