MILFORD HAVEN MAN JAILED FOR ONLINE CHILD GROOMING AND EXPLICIT IMAGES
A paedophile from Milford Haven who was already subject to a sexual harm prevention order set up various online accounts pretending to be a 15-year-old and solicited children to send him explicit images, including one of himself masturbating.
Court proceedings revealed that Terry Hughes, aged 41, had prior convictions for sexual offences involving children and was registered as a sex offender.
When police investigated concerns about online activity linked to his IP address, they found he had created a Snapchat account under false pretenses, engaging with minors and requesting naked pictures while also exchanging explicit images himself.
Hughes also communicated with someone he believed was a 10-year-old and an adult male discussing a young child in a nappy.
Additionally, Hughes sent full naked photographs of himself.
Hughes pleaded guilty to multiple charges, including attempting to engage in sexual communication with a child, attempting to cause a child to view a sexual image, making an indecent image, and breaching a sexual harm prevention order.
He appeared in Swansea Crown Court and was sentenced on July 30 to two years in prison, with a new 10-year sexual harm prevention order imposed.
His lawyer stated that Hughes 'deeply regrets his behaviour' and recognizes he has a serious problem.
The judge emphasized that Hughes 'relentlessly pursued' engaging in such conduct.
