On April 5, 2025, the RSPCA received a call from Dyfed-Powys Police regarding a dog in distress at Mottram’s home in Milford Haven.
RSPCA Animal Rescue Officer (ARO) Paula Milton attended and found a black labrador, Andy, suffering with a degloving-type wound on his face, which was infected.
Mottram stated the last vet visit was two weeks prior.
Andy was taken into the charity’s care, and veterinary exams showed he was in poor body condition, with an injury that was an old wound or burst abscess.
Andy underwent surgery and recovered.
Mottram pleaded guilty to failing to meet her dog's needs under the Animal Welfare Act 2006.
She cited severe alcohol problems and mental health issues.
She received an 18-week suspended custodial sentence, 25 days of rehab, 120 days of alcohol monitoring, and a 10-year animal ownership ban, which expires in January 2036.
