FIFE MOTHER FURIOUS AFTER DOMESTIC ABUSER CHRIS BETT ADMONISHED IN COURT
A woman from Fife has expressed her disappointment after her former partner received what she considers an unjust sentence for severe domestic violence.Christopher Bett, a 35-year-old father of four from Glenrothes, was sentenced on June 18, 2025.
The court imposed what many view as a lenient punishment, alongside a five-year non-harassment order, following his conviction under Section 1 of the Domestic Abuse Scotland Act 2018.
The victim shared her story on social media, detailing her experiences of physical and psychological abuse by Bett over an extended period.
She posted several photographs of her injuries and videos depicting a large man shouting and using their children as leverage against her.
She described feeling "broken" and "trapped" by Christopher, who repeatedly subjected her to abuse and made her feel worthless.
The woman recounted how he exercised control over her and restricted her communication with others.
Thanks to her support system, she was able to escape her harrowing relationship and begin her recovery.
She also mentioned living in constant fear of further abuse by Bett and expressed her dissatisfaction with the outcome of the sentencing, feeling it did not reflect the severity of her ordeal.
