SALFORD MAN JAILED FOR HORRIFIC SEXUAL ASSAULTS AND FILMING RAPE
A man has been sentenced to more than ten years in prison for a series of disturbing sexual assaults on a woman.
Bartosz Godlewski, age 39, residing at Canterbury Gardens in Eccles, Salford, pleaded guilty to two counts of rape and one sexual assault.
The attacks, which took place in February of this year, involved Godlewski filming himself while raping the woman.
The court described the acts as a 'shocking and horrific' series of sex crimes.
He was sentenced to 10 years and four months in prison by a judge at Manchester’s Minshull Street Crown Court and received a lifetime restraining order.
Greater Manchester Police confirmed they launched their investigation after the crime was reported and thanked the victim for her courage.
Detective Constable Stuart Bentley stressed the importance of victims reporting such incidents, stating, 'I would like to thank the victim for coming forward to speak with police about this shocking and horrific incident.' He further mentioned that Godlewski is now serving a lengthy custodial sentence as a convicted rapist, which aims to bring some closure to the victim after a very challenging time in her life.
