HUDDERSFIELD WOMAN CAUGHT DRUNK PUSHING TODDLER INTO TRAFFIC
Police were called to Leeds Road Retail Park by concerned members of the public after they witnessed Ayesha Miller, a 27-year-old woman, in an intoxicated state with her two-year-old child in a pram. She was seen pushing the child across the retail park, holding up traffic, and appeared to be stumbling.
At one point, she let go of the pram, which veered towards the edge of the road into the path of oncoming traffic.
Officers attended and found her with a high blood alcohol level of 126 microgrammes per 100 millilitres of breath, well above the legal limit of 35 microgrammes.
Miller pleaded guilty in Kirklees Magistrates' Court to being drunk in charge of a child.
Her solicitor explained she had been drinking heavily during summer months with her children at home and had taken her child to a friend's house in a pram.
She was granted unconditional bail ahead of a sentencing hearing scheduled for October 31.
The magistrates requested a full report before issuing a sentence.
