HUDDERSFIELD MAN JAILED FOR COERCIVE CONTROL AND SEXUAL ABUSE OF WOMAN
A 33-year-old man from Edale Avenue, Huddersfield, has been sentenced to three years and three months in prison following admitting to two offences of sexual touching and two offences of coercive and controlling behaviour.The victim reported to police in 2025 that Furey subjected her to a relentless campaign of abuse, including ringing her over 100 times daily and frequently turning up outside her residence.
During the case at Leeds Crown Court, it was revealed that his offending was particularly heinous, demonstrating a calculated attempt to intimidate and control her.
Furey also faces an indefinite restraining order and is on the sex offenders register.
Detective Constable Kelly of West Yorkshire Police praised the victim’s bravery and her support for the prosecution, stating that her efforts ensured Furey’s conviction and imprisonment.
The court’s decision emphasizes the serious nature of his crimes and the importance of victims coming forward to seek justice.
