CASTLEFORD MAN JAILED FOR RAPE AND CONTROLLING BEHAVIOUR
A 34-year-old man from Castleford has been jailed for nine years and six months after being convicted of rape and controlling behaviour.Alexander Julien, of Graham Drive, was sentenced at Leeds Crown Court last week, following his conviction by a jury in December.
Julien was found guilty of the rape of a woman aged over 16, which was reported to have taken place in Wakefield District in 2022 - for which he received a five-year prison sentence.
Alongside the rape charge, Julien was sentenced to two years for two offences of coercive and controlling behaviour.
These sentences will run concurrently but consecutive to the rape sentence.
He was also handed an additional two years and six months consecutively for separate drug offences.
