BATLEY MAN THREATENED TO RAPE HIS EX-GIRLFRIEND AND BURN HER HOME DOWN
A Kirklees Magistrates' Court heard that Aiden Chadburn, of Centenary Way in Batley, was involved in a violent incident at his ex-girlfriend Miss Jackson’s home in Navigation Gardens on May 15.He was found guilty of common assault and criminal damage to Kirklees Council property, after attempting to latch her in and slam her head into a cupboard, then grabbing her by the hair, trying to strangle her, and later returning in a rage, shouting threats to burn her house down and attempting to rape her.
During the attack, Chadburn also punched doors causing damage and took her phone to prevent her from calling police.
The court heard she called neighbors for help, and she was assaulted when he pulled her to the ground and kicked her, shouting threats.
Chadburn believed his ex was sleeping with another man, which contributed to his aggression, and he was already under a suspended jail sentence for grievous bodily harm when this incident occurred.
He was remanded in custody and is scheduled for sentencing at Leeds Crown Court on August 1.
