SCOTTISH BORDERS BUSINESSMAN ADAM NOWAK GUILTY OF MULTIPLE SEXUAL OFFENCES
A 49-year-old man who was convicted of sexually assaulting two women will face sentencing next month at Jedburgh Sheriff Court.Zbigniew Adam Nowak was found guilty after a trial of sexually assaulting a woman in Duns between February 1 and February 28, 2023.
The assault involved placing his hands under her armpit and moving his hand down her upper body, around her breasts, and towards her waist.
The second offence, which involved sexual assault and inappropriate sexual communication, occurred at a business in Duns.
Between January 1, 2022, and November 2023, Nowak repeatedly touched another woman on her body, pressed his body against the back of her head, and tried to coerce her into touching him, which caused her injury.
He also stopped a vehicle he was driving and demanded sexual activity from her, tried to force entry while she was in the toilet, directed sexual comments both verbally and in writing, frequently made sexual remarks, and left her notes.
Nowak, residing at Milne Graden West Mains, Coldstream, denied both charges.
However, after being convicted, the court deferred sentencing pending the preparation of background reports.
The sentencing was further postponed until November 3 to allow the case to be handled by the original trial sheriff.

Zbigniew Adam Nowak was found guilty following a trial of sexually assaulting a woman between February 1, 2023, and February 28, 2023, by placing his hands under her armpit and moving his hand down her upper body, around her breasts and down to her waist.
For that offence, he was ordered to carry out 100 hours of unpaid work and to pay the woman £200 in compensation.
The second sexual assault happened at a business, also in Duns.
Between January 1, 2022, and November 2023, he sexually assaulted another woman by repeatedly touching her on the body, pressing his body against the back of her head and attempting to force her to touch him to her injury.
He also stopped a vehicle he was driving and demanded that she engage in sexual activity with him, attempted to force entry while she was in the toilet, directed verbal and written sexual communications towards her and regularly uttered sexual remarks to her and left her notes.
He was given another 100 hours of unpaid work for that offence and ordered to pay her £200 in compensation.
Additionally, a non-harassment order was imposed, banning him from having any contact with the woman for two years.
Nowak, who gave an address in Coldstream, had denied both offences.
