DUNFERMLINE MAN ON SEX OFFENDERS REGISTER AFTER SNAPCHAT MESSAGES TO GIRL
A creep who told a 14-year-old girl he was outside her home in a chilling Snapchat message has been put on the sex offenders register for three years.
William Brown, 32, had told the child he might drive to her house and after being told not to, sent her a picture of a pub local to her address and a message saying he was holding his penis.
He then told her he had been “out the front of her house” for between five and 20 minutes.
The creepy comments came after Brown had already sent the girl images and messages of a sexual nature.
Brown, of Monifieth, formerly of Dunfermline, appeared at Dunfermline Sheriff Court for sentencing after earlier pleading guilty to communicating indecently with an older child and causing her to look at a sexual image.
The offending spanned between June 1 2023 and January 31 last year.
Sheriff Mark O’Hanlon told Brown the custody threshold had been reached in the “serious” case.
The sheriff noted the sick conversations seemed to be something he “desired” and continued with, adding: “Clearly there are issues that require to be dealt with.” He imposed 200 hours of unpaid work and placed him under offender supervision for three years, with a requirement to complete the Moving Forward to Change programme to address sexual offending.
