WEBSTER, 79, RULED TO HAVE SEXUALLY ABUSED FIVE BOYS IN MONIFIETH
A judge has ruled that five boys were subjected to sexual abuse in Monifieth by Ivan Crockhart Webster, 79.The court determined he committed sex attacks on children between 1980 and 1988, including children as young as three years old.
Webster faced multiple allegations and was served with an indictment at the High Court, but it was later determined he would not be fit enough to participate in jury proceedings.
Evidence showed that Webster used lewd, indecent, or libidinous practices or behaviors towards five different boys, with the youngest victim being just three-years-old at the outset of abuse, which occurred between March 1982 and March 1984.
Other incidents involved removing clothing, carrying children to bedrooms, and inappropriate touching in various locations including an address in Monifieth and a field in Kinloch Rannoch.
The court found the evidence beyond a reasonable doubt, though this does not result in a criminal conviction.
No information was provided on whether Webster has been subject to a treatment or supervision order as an alternative to punishment.
