MAN CONVICTED FOR ALCOHOL-FUELED SEXUAL ASSAULT IN MONIFIETH PUB
An OnlyFans model was sexually assaulted by a man in a local pub.Edward Statter has been placed under supervision and on the sex offenders register after admitting his alcohol-fueled crime.The victim was visiting The Crown bar on the town’s High Street with her partner late last year.Outside the bar, Statter, 55, made a rude remark and reached for the woman’s top.He then attempted a second time inside the bar and touched the woman as she tried to move away.Statter, who was registered as a sex offender for six months, was called a pervert by his victim.Sozzled sleazePreviously, Forfar Sheriff Court heard that the victim was at the bar around 7 pm with her partner, and she got into a conversation with another man.She disclosed that she works as a content creator on OnlyFans, a popular adult material site.Word spread, and about an hour later, the woman went outside to vape.Statter approached her, asked about her earnings, and made an inappropriate comment: “You must get your boobs out,” before trying to pull down her top.He was stopped, and she returned inside, not telling anyone at the time, attributing his behavior to drunkenness.Later, she and her partner were invited to another table where Statter was sitting, and he again reached for her chest.As she moved to leave, she stepped across his lap, and he touched her inner thighs, cupped her private parts, and moved his hand to her buttocks.
Startled, the woman spilled her food.
Statter called her a “f***ing slut,” and she called him a pervert.Drank ’10 pints plus nips’At an earlier hearing, Statter, of Union Street, Monifieth, pleaded guilty to sexually assaulting the woman, who cannot be named for legal reasons.Sentencing was deferred for reports.
His solicitor, Gary McIlravey, explained that Statter—who also has two past road traffic convictions—had consumed about ten pints and several drinks.He stated that his client could not explain his behavior but was ashamed and embarrassed, acknowledging longstanding struggles with alcohol misuse.He assured that Statter would not offend again.On registerSheriff Neil Kinnear sentenced Statter to six months of supervision and placed him on the sex offenders register.
The sheriff remarked, “This is a very unfortunate incident.
It’s not an excuse or defense that you drank excessively, although it’s clear this was a one-off caused by poor judgment from alcohol.
Nonetheless, I need to mark it accordingly.”
