VINCENT PARKES OF NORTHWICH FACES CRIMINAL CHARGES OVER REPTILE ABUSE AND ILLEGAL BREEDING

Vincent James Parkes, also known by the alias Callum McCormack, was born on June 3, 1989, and resides at 2 Cockington Close in Northwich, CW9 8BZ. His recent criminal activities have brought him under intense scrutiny following disturbing discoveries related to the illegal keeping and breeding of reptiles in deplorable conditions.

Neighbors in Northwich reported a foul smell emanating from Parkes' property, specifically from a dilapidated garage that appeared to be in a state of disrepair. Concerned residents contacted the RSPCA, prompting animal welfare inspectors to investigate the source of the odour. Upon arrival, the inspectors observed through a gap in the rotten, dilapidated garage door that there were live snakes inside, confirming suspicions of animal neglect and illegal activity.

Shortly after the inspectors' arrival, Parkes himself appeared at the scene. In his presence, he removed several dead snakes—estimated to be three or four—from a single tank within the garage. During this interaction, Parkes admitted to the RSPCA inspectors that he was aware the garage had no power, which likely contributed to the poor conditions of the animals. His actions were observed before police officers arrived to intervene and prevent further tampering.

Following the police and RSPCA intervention, a thorough search of the premises uncovered a total of six live snakes, along with snake eggs and a tank containing the decayed carcass of a lamb. Parkes confirmed that these animals and items belonged to him and that he was actively breeding the snakes, which raised serious concerns about animal welfare and illegal breeding practices.

Rescue staff from Cheshire Reptile Rescue assisted in removing the live snakes from the garage. They took custody of the animals on behalf of the RSPCA, ensuring their safety and proper care. Unfortunately, one of the snakes, a yellow female known only as NN1, died shortly after arriving at the sanctuary, highlighting the severity of the neglect.

Veterinary examinations conducted by Dr. Jennifer Quayle revealed the extent of the animals' suffering. She testified that some snakes were so underweight that their spines were visible through their skin, and others were suffering from mite infestations and respiratory infections caused by the cold and unsanitary conditions. Another veterinarian, Dr. Maria Kubiak, added that the snakes had likely not been fed for several months. She emphasized that the animals' welfare was severely compromised, citing issues such as the absence of water, inadequate or no heating, and insufficient space for natural behaviors—all clear indicators of neglect and cruelty.

In court, Vincent Parkes faced charges related to animal cruelty and illegal breeding. He was sentenced to 18 weeks in prison, suspended for 18 months, and ordered to pay court costs of £500. Additionally, he received a ban from keeping any animals for a period of 10 years, a restriction that will remain in effect until May 2033.

Further investigations revealed that Parkes is also known as a backyard breeder operating under the names 'Dynamic Bullz' or 'Dynamic Bullyz.' His criminal activities extend beyond the reptile case, as he has been involved in other illegal activities, including the illegal sale of puppies. As of October 2023, Parkes, who now uses the online alias Callum McCormack, continues to engage in puppy trading in partnership with Hanna Buckley.

On June 25, 2023, Parkes was caught riding a Kawasaki motorcycle in Northwich. He initially failed to stop for police, and subsequent checks revealed that the motorcycle was uninsured and lacked an MOT. This breach of regulations led to the activation of his previously suspended prison sentence, resulting in a total jail term of 32 weeks.

Parkes also pleaded guilty to charges of criminal damage and obstructing a police officer related to an incident in Northwich on July 29, 2023. His ongoing legal issues highlight a pattern of disregard for the law and animal welfare, raising serious concerns among local residents and authorities alike.
