NORTHWICH STALKER TO HAVE MOVEMENTS ELECTRONICALLY MONITORED
A STALKER'S whereabouts are to be electronically tracked after he conducted a nine-month campaign of harassment against a woman.
Andrew Mounfield, of Flower Street, Northwich, appeared at Warrington Magistrates Court on Monday, March 30, for sentencing on one stalking without fear charge.
The court heard that, between March and November last year, the 42-year-old 'repeatedly sent unwanted messages on Instagram, email, and WhatsApp' to his victim.
Mounfield, who previously admitted the offence on February 26, was handed a 12-month community order.
As part of this, he has been electronically tagged so his whereabouts can be monitored until March 29, 2027.
He must also complete 100 hours of unpaid work during that time as well as up to 20 days of rehabilitation activity.
Finally, the bench imposed a two-year restraining order on Mounfield, banning him from contacting his victim, directly or indirectly, by any means.
