MARK STONELEY SHAMES WINSFORD IN BRUTAL DOMESTIC ASSAULT CASE
A 32-year-old man named Mark Stoneley, residing on Rolt Avenue, has admitted to a violent assault against his wife, Vicky Stoneley, at their shared home located on Kingsway in Winsford.The incident took place on the evening of August 12, and the court proceedings were held at Northwich Magistrates Court to address the serious allegations.
Details emerging from the court reveal that Mark and Vicky had been married for six years and had been together for a total of twelve years.
The couple is also parents to two children, aged nine and eight.
Over the past three to four years, their relationship had reportedly been deteriorating, leading to increased tensions and conflicts within their household.
On the night of the assault, Vicky had gone to visit her sister’s house, where she consumed some wine.
Later, her husband, who was out fishing at the time, picked her up from her sister’s residence.
The couple then decided to go for a takeaway meal in Winsford before returning to their home.
Upon entering their kitchen, an argument erupted between them, with Mark raising his voice at Vicky.
The situation quickly escalated as Mark suddenly lunged at her and headbutted her in the face.
The assault did not stop there; Mark continued to strike her repeatedly, using punches and kicks all over her body, despite Vicky’s pleas for him to stop.
Vicky managed to scream for help through an open window, but Mark forcibly dragged her back into the house, preventing her from calling for assistance.
The attack left her with visible injuries, including bruises on her left ear and right cheek, swelling and a split on her upper lip, bruising on both arms, redness on her neck, scratches near her left eye, and a cut on her foot.
The police responded swiftly to the scene, arriving to arrest Mark and providing medical aid to Vicky.
She was subsequently taken to Leighton Hospital for treatment.
During police questioning, Mark refused to cooperate or answer questions regarding the incident.
The court has scheduled a further hearing on September 23 to review probation reports and determine appropriate legal action moving forward.
