FORMER WINSFORD MAN AWAITS SENTENCE OVER CHILD SEX ABUSE IMAGES
A MAN ‘gained sexual gratification’ from viewing child sexual abuse images, including children as young as three years old, a court was told.Luis De Silva, formerly of Winsford, appeared at Chester Magistrates Court on Friday, November 21, with an interpreter.
The 29-year-old, now of Clapham Road, London, admitted four charges of making and possessing child sexual abuse images including 25 category A still and moving pictures, 18 category B and 12 category C.
All of the offences were committed in Winsford between April last year and January this year.
He also admitted a breach of an interim sexual risk order by not registering with his nearest police station when he moved to the capital.
Prosecutors at the court told magistrates that officers attended a property on Friday, January 31, after receiving intelligence he had been viewing the material of children being sexually abused.
Magistrates were told, when he was interviewed by police, he admitted to having the images on his ‘black phone’ that were sent by WhatsApp and he also admitted he found them ‘sexually stimulating’.
It is worth noting that he does not have any previous convictions.
Michael Gray, defending, called for a pre-sentence report and told the court his client’s failure to register his new address in London was a ‘notification error’, rather than deliberate.
Mr Gray said because of his lack of previous offending, and because some of the victims featured in the images were between three and 10 years old, a pre-sentence report was required.
De Silva will return to Chester Magistrates Court on Friday, December 19.
