WAKEFIELD MAN JAILED FOR LIFE OVER DOMESTIC MURDER
A man named Tony Brooks, aged 36, who lives on Agbrigg Road in Wakefield, received a life imprisonment sentence after pleading guilty to the murder of Kirstie Ellis.
Her body was discovered at her home in Stanningley, West Yorkshire, eight weeks after her death.
The court heard that Brooks had been romantically involved with Ms Ellis since December 2021.
An autopsy revealed that she, 35, had been strangled, and police believed she was killed at her residence on 1 February.
Evidence from forensic investigations linked Brooks to the scene of her death, and he had sold some of her belongings afterward.
In addition, her bank card and PIN were found at the house where Brooks was staying.
The family of Ms Ellis described her as 'a beacon of light' whose spirit would 'shine forever,' describing her as a vibrant individual whose presence left a lasting impression.
